Role Modelling Exercise Program

On Monday 13 December up to Thursday 15 December, 2022, CARE International UK Care International Malawi and Hoho Action Plus Org organised a Role Modelling Exercise Program in different primary schools in Kasungu district with the aim of inspiring and motivating primary school learners to work hard in schools.

The exercise took place in five zones and five primary schools namely Suza zone,Chamama zone, Wimbe zone, Livwezi zone and Msiwa zone and five primary schools namely Katayanthona, Kamtapo, Chanthipwi, Chimwang'ombe and Chalizya primary schools in the Senior Chief Wimbe in the district.

Among the role models that were available include Ministry of Information and Kasungu Community Radio Station journalists Yankho Phiri and Hellen Chitseko, Kasungu District Hospital nurse Merriam Chikuyu Kasungu Police Station Officers Linda Friday and Chrissy Jabesi.

Speaking to the learners during the exercise, the role models advised primary school learners to refrain from peer pressure and anything that can distract them from pursuing education.

Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator for Care International Malawi, Rabecca Makhuwira and Widson Phiri Monitoring and Evaluation for Hoho Action Plus respectively said that, they thought it wise to engage the role models as one way of motivating the children to work hard in schools to achieve their goals.

As the organisation that also focus much on the welfare of children we believe the exercise will have positive impacts to all learners.
