In an effort to improve hygiene at Nthaundwala Under-Five Clinic, Hoho Action Plus has handed over a four-room toilet block to the facility.
Hoho Action Plus constructed the block, valued at K3.5 million, in partnership with The Friends of Malawi Association FOMA to a hard to reach area.
Communities were finding it difficult to answer the call of nature at the facility, which serves almost 1,000 children, as its toilet was in a very sorry state.
It was also worrisome that previously, men and women were sharing the same room, not only depriving them of their right to privacy but also hindering hygienic efforts.
This is the first toilet block of its kind to be constructed at the facility, which was established in 2002.
The pictorial below displays the Clinic before and after the interventions by Hoho Action Plus and FOMA .
We extend our gratitude to our partner FOMA for the support towards the people of Nthunduwala in Kasungu District.
Let's build a brighter future together! 💪
